THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU

 

The School Counsellor works collaboratively with school-based personnel, student achievement teams, specialized professional staff, and community agencies to address student academic and developmental needs.  The primary responsibility of the School Counsellor is to support student success and educational health through counseling, consultation, prevention education, and assessment and remediation for emotional, social, and behavioural needs. 

 

This position will start August 27, 2024.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Deliver prevention, education and awareness services to students and staff to support a safe and healthy school environment.
  • Provide individual and small group student case management to support students at risk.
  • Connect students and their families with community-based and partner agency services and resources.
  • Participate in school threat risk assessments and traumatic/critical incident responses. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is required, Master’s Degree in Social Work is preferred.
  • Must have or be eligible for registration in the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
  • Must have experience working with children and youth with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
