Casual Caretakers perform a broad range of cleaning and general maintenance functions to create safe, healthy, accessible, clean, and functional spaces for students and staff to learn and work.
This posting is for the 2024-2025 school year. Must be available Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Perform cleaning duties with the use of hand and power tools, equipment and cleaning agents following standard daily and rotational cleaning schedules and verbal instruction.
- Clean washrooms/classrooms/hallways/offices.
- Empty garbage and trash containers to exterior storage bins.
- Use brooms, brushes, mops, vacuums, scrubbers and related equipment to clean floors in all areas of the building.
- Perform basic security checks of facilities and activate security alarms.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Apply today if you meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Previous caretaking experience and a Fireman’s Certificate is an asset
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, supplies, and equipment.
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials and Information Systems (WHMIS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with others.
- Physical ability to carry out all caretaking duties as outlined under duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to read and understand to comply with labels, instructions and safety messages or warnings for the safe and competent use of caretaking supplies and operation of equipment is essential.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance functions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands and effectively manage time.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
