THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU

 

Regina Public Schools is seeking an innovative and strategic Supervisor of Communications and Marketing to lead the Division’s internal and external communications strategy. This role is responsible for enhancing brand awareness, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and ensuring consistent, compelling messaging across all channels. As a trusted advisor and storyteller, the Supervisor of Communications and Marketing drives initiatives that connect audiences to the school division’s mission and values while fostering a positive reputation in the community.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include: 

  • As a member of Regina Public Schools’ management team, provide strategic leadership to school division communications and marketing activities.
  • Lead the development and delivery of media, public relations and stakeholder engagement by:
    • Serve as a primary media contact and spokesperson when required.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets.
    • Manage press releases, media advisories, and crisis communication plans.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, event leads, and external partners to deliver impactful communication programs.
    • Support Board, sponsorship and revenue-generating initiatives through strategic messaging.
  • Oversee and lead marketing and branding strategy including content development, digital and social media by:
    • Develop and preserve a progressive, recognizable brand identity to maximize public awareness for the school division ensuring brand consistency across all communication materials, including newsletters, executive messaging, and event promotions.
    • Lead storytelling initiatives that highlight organizational achievements and community impact.
    • Direct social media engagement strategies to grow audience reach and engagement.
    • Oversee creation of high-quality content for digital, print, and social platforms.
    • Oversee and maintain the school division’s website (design, content development, and functionality) in order to promote the visual image and voice of the school division.
    • Utilize analytics to measure effectiveness and inform future campaigns.
  • Effectively and diligently manage department financial and human resources.

 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations leadership roles; experience in the education sector is considered an asset.
  • Consideration will be given to individuals with substantial experience as educators who can demonstrate skills, experience and vision in relation to the key responsibilities and accountabilities for this role.
  • Expert knowledge of communications, public and media relations theories and practices, including issues management and strategic communications planning.
  • Knowledge of the role and impact of public education, including its broader purpose in fostering equity, inclusion, lifelong learning, and community engagement recognizing the importance of storytelling and transparent communication in supporting school division outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and execute effective and progressive marketing communications and brand strategy.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and highly politicized situations maintaining strong relationships demonstrating emotional intelligence, tact, and ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency for managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
  • Computer proficiency required including desktop publishing software and advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and Division specific software.
