THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU The Manager, OUtdoor Environmental Education is responsible to support and guide division and school staff in providing Outdoor Environmental Education curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities and Elementary and High School Out-of-School Physical Education activities. In support of providing learning experiences, this position represents Regina Public Schools on a variety of committees and liaises with various Ministries, provincial and community organizations, and private land owners. In support of building capacity, this position is also responsible to organize and facilitate professional development and training opportunities for division and school staff. WHAT WILL YOU DO Plan, organize, and support Outdoor Environmental Education curricular and co-curricular opportunities in collaboration with division and school staff. Manage and/or provide High School Elementary Out-of-School Physical Education programming (e.g., swimming, cross-country skiing, curling, canoeing, cross-country running, indoor ice, and track and field). Coordinate programming and transportation for community resource based activities. Supervise Outdoor Environmental Education staff as needed and in collaboration with Supervisor of Instruction. Allocate and schedule Outdoor Environmental Education staff. Assist in the preparation and administration of Outdoor Environmental Education and Elementary Outof-School Physical Education budgets. Oversee the purchase, maintenance, and loan of Outdoor Environmental Education and Elementary Out-of-School Physical Education equipment and supplies. Work in partnership with various Ministries (e.g., Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Parks, Culture, and Sport) regarding legal and contractual obligations and access, use, and care of land. Collaborate and represent Regina Public Schools with various provincial and community organizations (i.e. Saskatchewan Wildlife federation, Regina Wildlife Federation, Regina Fish and Game League, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Ducks Unlimited Canada, Wascana Center Authority, Canadian Western Agribition, Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, and Saskatchewan Outdoor Environmental Education Association) regarding legal and contractual obligations, land use, grants, and opportunities for environmental stewardship. Facilitate Elementary Out-of-School Physical Education activities and facility use with various community organizations (i.e. City of Regina, Wascana Racing Canoe Club, Curl Regina, Regina Ski Club, and Regina Wildlife Federation) in alignment with legal and contractual obligations. Contact and communicate with private loan owners regarding access, use, and care of land through informal agreement. Organize and facilitate professional development in support of building capacity for division and school staff. Organize and facilitate training opportunities as required to ensure safety and certification qualifications are met for division and school staff. Other duties as may be assigned. Specialized knowledge, experience, and/or course work in Outdoor Environmental Education and Physical Education. Valid Standard First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification. Additional Outdoor Environmental Education and Physical Education related certifications are an asset.
