The Casual Resource Centre Assistant provides clerical and technical assistance in a school resource centre.
This posting is for the 2024-2025 school year.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Assists in the maintenance of the library including shelving, shifting, shelf reading, repairing, processing, following up on overdue, weeding, and deleting of library materials, including teacher and student resources.
- Assists with inventory of library materials, including teacher and student resources, and supplies.
- Assists with the organization, set-up, and take down of book displays.
- Circulates library materials, including teacher and student resources, and processes interlibrary loan requests.
- Circulates technology and assists with appropriate use and set up of equipment.
- Assists students and staff in the location of library materials, including teacher and student resources, and use of the library management and related software.
- Assists in the supervision of students, student helpers, and volunteers.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Apply today if you meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or formal library training, or extensive resource centre experience including basic knowledge of libraries including policies, terminology and resource centre procedures. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
