THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU
Under the direction of an assigned school Principal, the Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for school-related information and inquiries and is responsible for providing general administrative assistance and support at the school level. The Administrative Assistant develops and maintains efficient and effective daily operational routines for the school office for the benefit of the administrators, staff, students, parents/guardians, and the community. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of administrative duties such as data entry, word processing, basic accounting, general reception duties, preparing and tracking correspondence, records management, mail distribution, photocopying, and other related administrative duties.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Assist with school opening and closing procedures, reporting, and correspondence.
- Respond to telephone, in person, or electronic inquiries and provide general information.
- Prepare administrative reports, month end and absence reports, time sheets, forms, and other materials.
- Register new students, obtain information for student demographics, and establish and maintain accurate electronic pupil records.
- Perform accounting and reporting functions associated with a decentralized budgeting process.
- Maintain a computerized accounting system, reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements.
- Maintain filing systems for the school office.
- Maintain inventories of equipment and supplies and prepare requisitions for ordering of supplies, workbooks, audiovisual and other instructional materials as required.
- Make arrangements for field trips and special school events.
- Provide assistance in the resource centre as required.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Apply today if you meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
- Office Education Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum one year experience working in an administrative role.
- Experience performing basic accounting and bookkeeping practices.
- Experience working with software including database and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience working within the education sector is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to work independently.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
