The Psychologist works collaboratively with school-based personnel, student achievement teams, specialized professional staff, and community agencies to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The Psychologist works in an elementary or high school and plays a vital role in the school community by directly contributing to creating a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and strengthening connections between home and school.
This is a temporary full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Deliver intervention, education and awareness services to students and staff to support a safe and healthy school environment by:
- Providing leadership in the promotion, development and delivery of programs and services, and providing in-service to staff in areas related to psychology including, but not limited to, effective instruction and learning strategies, techniques to manage behaviour at home and in the classroom, working with students with varying abilities, addressing abuse of drugs and other substances, and preventing and managing crises.
- Participating and promoting the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the learning community in all planning, school operations, interactions, and decisions.
- Advising students, school-based personnel, and parents with respect to psychological matters and educating others on child development and its effects on learning and behaviour.
- Provide individual and small group case management to support students by:
- Working directly with students and their families to resolve difficulties in adjustment and learning.
- Collaborating with school-based personnel and parents to identify effective solutions to learning and behaviour.
- Supporting families and school-based personnel manage crises such as death, illness, or community trauma, including assisting with Tragic Event Response.
- Determining social—emotional development and mental health status.
- Completing psycho-educational assessments and reports.
- Connect students and their families with community-based and partner agency services and resources.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Apply today if you meet the following requirements:
- Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in School, Educational, or Clinical Psychology.
- Must be registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists and have, or be working towards acquiring, the Authorized Practice Endorsement.
- Experience in data-based decision making, consultation and collaboration, effective instruction, child development, student diversity and development, school organization, prevention, intervention, mental health, learning styles, behaviour, research, and program evaluation is preferred.
- Knowledge of psycho-educational assessments and effective Inclusion and Intervention Plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating exceptional ability to collaborate with students and parents/ guardians in decision making along with school-based staff, local and provincial government organizations.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
